Gloss n Sparkle - Blue Monday, Decadence & Ice Ice Baby

Hello lacquer lovers, how are you all today?  Geee whiz I love showing you guys pictures of some of the awesome Aussie indie brands, especially now that I know you are able purchase them through suppliers that ship internationally.  Here are three more Gloss 'n Sparkle polishes, and they are all just beautiful.

Blue Monday - This is a bright blue crelly polish that contains both blue and white glitters of different sizes.  What my photos don't show is the microfine holographic aqua glitters that are also suspended in the base.  This applied beautifully and dried relatively smooth, only needing one coat of top coat.  I really love that deformed white glitter that I zoomed in on in the macro too - cool.

Decadence - a warm red toned purple jelly, or is it a blue tone red jelly - I dunno.  It full of silver micro glitter and very small blue shards. The balance of glitter in this was excellent, enough to provide great coverage and sparkle but not so much that it was thick and gloopy to apply.  This was three thin coats and a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Ice Ice Baby - Looks like my girl Anglea was a teen of the 90's.  I had a right giggle when I read her write up about this polish on her Etsy store:

"Alright stop, collaborate and listen, Gloss 'n Sparkle has a brand new addition

Something, with aqua, teal and white, a little bit of copper it looks so right"

And the worst part was that I totally rapped that to the right tune in my head!!

I layered one coat of Ice Ice Baby over Picture Polish Sky, such a perfect match up.  Ice Ice Baby has satin finish white, pale aqua and teal hexes, and when you check the macro shot you can see the copper  micro glitter.

Gloss 'n Sparkle polishes are already available from Shoppe Eclecticco in Singapore, some are already sold out, but I notice these three are still available.  Don't forget to check the currency display on their website, the default display is in Singapore dollars which makes the price seem high. You can toggle to your selected currency in the top right corner.

Gloss n Sparke - Bruise, Edge of the World & Lead Paint

I have three shades from Aussie indie brand Gloss 'n Sparkle to share today.

Bruise - A royal purple crelly, not quite a creme or not quite a jelly.  Bright blue large and micro hexes, medium sized purple hexes and small black hexes and bars.  What a pretty bruise!  This is three coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Edge of the World - This polish is just divine.  A teal green jelly base with some micro glitter in silver and aqua, small aqua hexes, medium aqua and green hexes and larger aqua and green hexes.  It applies beautifully and has full coverage at three coats.  This one is a stunner.

Lead Paint - a steely metal grey with fine silver shards and gun metal silver squares and hexes in multiple sizes.  I love the name, but what's even funnier is that on the Gloss 'n Sparkle Esty site, there's a disclaimer that says this polish doesn't actually contain any lead! Bwahh haa haa. This is two coats of Lead Paint with Seche Vite top coat.

Now for the best part.  No more boo-hoos from international ladies about not being able to get our great Aussie indie brands.  Gloss 'n Sparkle polishes will be available from Shoppe Eclecticco in Singapore from tomorrow night (November 14 @ 11pm Singapore time to be precise) and YES - Shoppe Eclecticco ships internationally.

Glass 'n Sparkle - Continga and Mirage

Here are two manis I wore this week featuring polishes from Aussie indie brand Gloss 'n Sparkle.

Continga has blue, aqua, teal, turquoise, lavender, purple and silver hexes and shredded glitter in a clear base.  The swatch on the Gloss 'n Sparkle etsy site has this over black, and it looks gorgeous, but I really like matchy-matchy glitters, so I decided to put mine over China Glaze Deviantly Daring. I also thought I would mix it up a bit and only apply the glitter to the bottom and tips on two feature nails.

This is one coat of Deviantly Daring and two coats of Continga, topped with Ulta3 non-chip and Seche Vite. The glitters were more sparse in this polish and it says it is specifically a top coat, rather than a polish you would build up to wear as an opaque glitter.  The glitters were well behaved and completely flat. I really liked this polish with the combo of teal blues with the purples.

Mirage is described as soft cool baby blue base with a pink/light gold shifting glass fleck look, a sprinkling of fine silver glitter and some large silver holographic glitters.

I tried my damnedest to capture the large holo hexes, but only got one showing in the bottle.  This is three coats of Mirage with a coat of Seche Vite.  This also applied easily and the glitters lay flat.

Gloss 'n Sparkle - Goblins Grave

I'm on a real green kick at the moment so when this polish arrived from Gloss 'n Sparkle I was very excited to put it on. Goblins Grave is a dark green jelly with lime, turquoise and black holo hex glitter. This was three coats and in real life it provided full coverage, but these photos do still show it looking a little sheer at some angles.

The jelly base is just perfect in this.  It has such a rich dark colour but it is still perfectly sheer so that all the glitters show through. That's exactly what I love about a good jelly polish.  

This dried nice pretty smooth and I only applied one coat of Seche Vite top coat.  Needless to say, I am completely in love with this polish!

Ok, quick post tonight cause I want to watch Kerry Packers HOWZAT which has just stated on TV.  I only saw bits of it last Sunday night cause I was doing my nails, but what I saw was really good.  I feel so Aussie watching the show and it really brings back memories for me as a little kid with that classic World Series Cricket music.

Gloss 'n Sparkle - Antiquity and Unicorn Droppings

I have two great polishes from Aussie indie brand Gloss 'n Sparkle today.

After wearing the black and rainbow nails for a few days I wanted to wear something neutral.  But I never expected to reach for a neutral glitter - in fact I never really thought that one existed!  But that is exactly what Antiquity felt like and I loved it. It is made up of gold, silver, bronze, copper, sand and brown micro glitters and the overall feel is a light golden brown.  Indoors and in the shade it is a soft neutral colour, but in the sun it sparkles beautifully.

I applied three coats of Antiquity for this mani and to my surprise it dried very smooth.  I was expecting the micro glitters to make this really top coat hungry, but I only a applied my regular one coat of Seche Vite and it was glossy and smooth.

The second polish I have to share is one that I wore this weekend for my mum's birthday.  I specifically chose this because it felt very much like a birthday kind of poilsh.

Unicorn Droppings has a silverly white sparkling jelly base that has the teeny tiniest micro holographic glitters as well as the much more obvious matte rainbow glitters. Once thing I love about matte glitter is that it is so much easier to photograph.  I was able to take these photos in full sun and the glitter doesn't reflect the light with any sort of glare or flare.

This mani was also three coats with one coat of Seche Vite.  It too dried very smooth and only needed the top coat to make it dry faster and be super glossy

This is another great Aussie made brand.  The bottles are the lovely Zoya shaped ones and the product branding is really exceptional, with high quality clear labels with metallic print. I really that professional touch on an indie product.

Gloss 'n Sparkle has a fancy website as well as an Etsy store and her polishes are $10 AUD each. Currently shipping is only within Australia, but I know they are working on other arrangements for international orders.  

I have a few more Gloss 'n Sparkles to wear, but I enjoy wearing each of them as full manis, rather than just swatching them, so it means you will have to wait a bit for photos and individual blog posts.

And just for a bit of fun, here is the cake I baked and decorated for my mum's birthday.  After mentioning a few ideas to her, she loved the idea of a dragon cake, and this is what I came up with.
