More Christmas Manis!

Hey everyone!

It's been a while for me! I took some time off this past week to celebrate the holidays with my family...but I am back now and ready to be back in the normal pattern of life again. :) I'm showing you some holiday looks I wore over the past week. Again, these photos aren't my best and I look forward to being able to truly focus on blogging again  and presenting you with the standard you know from me.

First is Crooked Star from Darling Diva. I layered this over China Glaze Running in Circles which is freaking awesome....everyone needs it!

Next is Tree-mendous from Lush Lacquer layered over Orly Fresh. Still got the broken pinky nail, unfortunately.

And finally, a little stamping! I don't do this enough anymore. This is such a fun look but my topcoat smeared it. :(

I will probably have another post like this to wrap up my holiday manis and then I will be back to what I do best, hopefully!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Girly Bits Swatches

Hello readers!

I had the opportunity to try some polish from Girly Bits for the first time and I am sharing them with you now!

First, is Sailors Delight. I love the shimmer this has! This could easily work as a layering polish also. Below I did 4 easy coats and I know that sounds like a lot but the formula was easy to work with so it wasn't a chore. :)

Next is Smurf Dance. I believe this one has been discontinued, but you may still be able to find it somewhere. I really love this...the combination of glitters in this is perfect. I love the tiny holo glitters...I feel like they add the perfect finishing touch. I layered one coat over Orly Frisky.

And finally, Ornamental My Dear Watson. What a creative name! This was one coat over Zoya Natty. I really loved this, more than I thought I would! The glitter is packed in there and spread perfectly.  Gorgeous!

I am definitely a fan of Girly Bits! I loved these polishes all for different reasons.

Do you guys have any polishes from Girly Bits? What are your thoughts on these ones I have shown you today?

You can purchase Girly Bits *here* (however, they are currently closed for the holidays) and follow them on Facebook *here*.

Jindie Nails Winter Chic Collection Swatches and Review!

Hey lovely readers!

I think it's safe to say the holiday season is in full swing. I've got a few loose ends to wrap up with my gift shopping and I am just gonna sit back, relax, and have fun with my family after that!

I've got another amazing collection from Jindie Nails to share with you guys today! This one is called Winter Chic and let me tell you - you guys are in for a treat! Let's check it out!

Burrberry is fabulous! I layered 2 easy coats over Milani White on the Spot (which is a fantastic white creme by the way!).

Next, is Strawberry Cupcake. A girly girl's dream! I layered 2 coats over OPI Pink Friday. Also, check out the super  pretty blue shimmer in this!

Dream in Color is super fun. I layered a coat over Sinful Colors Black on Black. It applies a little patchy so it takes some skill to achieve an even coat. This can also be full coverage in 3 coats.

Yule Love This has dots! And yes, I do love this. ;) Remember when it was a big deal for a polish to have squares in it? I think dots are the new squares. The subtle difference from hex glitters makes an impact for sure. I layered 2 coats over Milani White on the Spot.

This is Honey Blue Blue. This is one coat over Orly Frisky.  I think this would be so cute with some snowflake nail art!

Here is Barbies Have More Fun. I used Milani White on the Spot again with 2 coats of BHMF.  Very cute!

And finally, we have Battle Royale. This is one coat over China Glaze Ride the Wave. The formula was awesome for this...one coat and all the glitter dispersed evenly!

And for a quick recap:

So there you have it! Which ones are you eyeing? Or maybe you already have some of these?

Jindie Nail's shop is currently on vacation to catch up on orders, so be sure to follow her on Facebook to know when she is planning to open back up!

New from Shimmer Polish Swatches and Review

Hey readers!

Is it Friday yet? Because I am so ready for that. ;)

I have been featuring lots of Shimmer here lately. Turns out the talented creator behind Shimmer is full of great ideas for polish! I am showing you the latest 2 glitters today.

Kelly in one coat over Orly Fresh. This is has pretty iridescent glitters that make it stand out.

And Alessandra over Orly Emberstone in one coat. This one could also be full coverage in more coats.

I can never say enough about how much I love the Shimmer polish formula. It's so easy to work with and never thick.

I previously featured Shimmer *here*, *here*, *here* , *here* AND *here* haha. So check those links for even more swatches!

Hey everybody!

I have some super pretty indies to share with you today. I have two polishes from the Wintertime Wonders collection from Oopsie Daisies Nails. For sure check out this shop if you haven't already...so many pretties!!

This is Carols by Candlelight. I layered one coat over Orly Au Champagne. I love the holo glitters in this, it really adds to the holiday cheer!

Not that I didn't like the last one because I so do...but I LOVE Glacier! This minty pastel blue base is to die for and the combo of glitters is perfection. Obsessed. I layered one coat over China Glaze Aquadelic. For a more sheer look, you can get pretty good coverage in 3 coats.

What do you think of these? Pretty right?!

New Shimmer Polish Swatches!

Hello my lovely readers!

I'm back from a bit of sporadic posting during the holiday weekend but I've got lots to show you coming up so I should be around for a while!

I'm sure most of you have heard of Shimmer polish, an indie brand. I have previously featured this brand quite a few times now and haven't been disappointed yet! This next group I am about to show you is no exception. So let's get right to it!

This is one coat of Elsa over Dr.'s Remedy Bold Baby Blue. 3 coats would definitely give you a full coverage look.

Next, is Sonia. One coat over Orly Buried Alive. This one is my favorite of this group because of the iridescent glitters in it. They really add something to this already pretty polish!

Jasmine is a fun one. I believe this is 2 coats over OPI Fly. Love the coverage this gets in only 2 coats!

Here is Fanny layered over Zoya Rory in one coat. I love pink, so this is an automatic fave for me!

And finally, we have Jenny. I know I keep saying this, but I love this one! It looks amazing here over China Glaze Blue Year's Eve. What a fun combo of glitters!

What are your favorites of this bunch?

I previously featured Shimmer *here*, *here*, *here* AND *here* haha. So check those links for even more swatches!

You can shop Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here* and like them on Facebook *here*!

Orly Flash Glam - Be Brave and Mermaid Tale

Being on the other side of the world, Australia always receives polish collections several months later than the USA or Europe, I'm assuming so that the colours match our season.  I first saw the Orly Flash Glam polishes on The PolishAholic in early June, but now these polishes will be available in Australia from 1 December 2012.

There are a total of 22 glitter polishes in this collection, although five of them appeared in US stores before the others.  The five that I know will be available in Australia are: Mermaid Tale, Spazmatic, Can't Be Tamed, Be Brave and Sashay My Way.  The five polishes are being released here with Orly's black shade, Liquid Vinyl. I have two of the five polishes to show you today.

Be Brave - Pink holographic bar glitter in a clear base.  If you don't like bar glitter then your gonna hate this. I like bar glitter (except if one hangs off the tip of your nail and scratches the bejesus out of you), and I especially love holo bar glitter.

This is two coats layered over a pink creme.  I would love to have been able to make this polish opaque on it's own, but the base is pretty thick so I would have ended up with 5mm thick gloopy nails that would have just slid off.  I'm not a pink wearer, but I really do like this polish.  I would like to try layering this with another pink holo polish too or over black.  This is definitely one polish that looks better in real life than in my photos

Mermaid tale - This one has a lovely combination of glitters. I can't actually tell if it has green and blue glitters, I think they are actually green holo glitters, which means they reflect blue.  There are at least three sizes of hex glitter in this, and the macro shot below shows the interesting print on some of the glitters.  This was three coats of Mermaid Tale on its own.  I really wanted to wear this without a base colour and get it opaque.  But looking back at these photos I see my nakedness, I really should have put some undies on.  This would look stunning over black too.

The glitters in this were good and all lay flat with no curling.  The formula was thick, but workable.

There are some other amazing polishes in the rest of the Orly Flash Glam range that were available in the USA. See Let them have Polish to see swatches of some of the others or Orly.com to see all 22. I really hope we get all 22 of these glitters released in Australia.

Polishes provided for review.
